Israel and Palestine 101, an animated introduction

Today, The Palestinian Authority asks the General Assembly of the United States for recognition as a non-member observer to that body. Our own government while speaking up for a just resolution of this 64 year old conflict, is opposing the effort. Becoming a non-member observer will give the PA standing to seek membership to the Treaty of Rome for an International Criminal Court. While ICC membership will not create a cause of action for past war crimes (Cast Lead, 2008 and Pillar of Cloud, 2012), it will create an important tool in the struggle to end future acts of genocide by the Israeli Occupation of Palestine.

Please see this video for a quick primer on the conflict, its history and what you can do to bring about a just peace for the people who live between the Jordan River and the Sea.
